Watermark PDF

Stamp text or a logo across your pages — position it exactly where you want.

Processed on your device — your files are never uploaded

Securely watermark your PDF files online

Protect your intellectual property, brand your business documents, or label sensitive files as drafts in seconds. PDFTurner’s watermark tool runs directly inside your web browser — whether you need to add a corporate logo or stamp a text disclaimer across every page, the whole job happens on your own device.

Why use PDFTurner for watermarking documents?

Your files never leave your device
Unlike most online document editors, PDFTurner processes everything locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so confidential contracts, invoices and personal records stay private.
Text and image watermarks
Stamp custom text with control over font, size, colour, weight and style — or drop in a transparent PNG logo or corporate stamp.
Position it exactly where you want
Drag the watermark anywhere on a live preview of your page, scale it from the corner handles, and rotate it freely. A nine-point grid snaps it to a corner or the centre in one click.
Choose which pages
Apply the watermark to the whole document, to the first page only, or to a range you type in — for example pages 2 to 5.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to add a watermark to my PDF on this website?

Yes. PDFTurner works on a privacy-first architecture: every processing step happens locally, inside your browser's memory. Your file is never transmitted across the network and never stored on a server, so confidential documents stay on your own device.

Can I adjust the transparency of the watermark?

Yes. The control panel has an opacity slider running from 0% to 100%. Somewhere between 30% and 40% usually works best — visible enough to be unmistakable, light enough to read the document through it. The tool starts at 30% for that reason.

What file formats are supported for image watermarks?

PNG and JPG. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result, because the area around your logo lets the page show through instead of sitting on a solid rectangle.

Can I watermark only certain pages?

Yes. You can apply the watermark to every page, to the first page only, or to a custom range typed as page numbers and spans — for example "1-3, 5". One document is watermarked at a time.

Can I put the watermark behind the page text instead of over it?

Yes. The layer control switches between placing the watermark above the page's content or behind it. Behind-content rebuilds the document to get underneath the existing page, which means any existing links or form fields in the original won't carry over.

Does adding a watermark change the text in my PDF?

No. The watermark is drawn as an additional layer on the page. The original text stays selectable and searchable exactly as it was, and the rest of the document is left untouched.
